200 Years of Alabama

Delegates to the 1819 Alabama Constitutional Convention

Today in 1819, Alabama was admitted to the Union of States as a sovereign & co-equal among her peers. She became the 22nd member of the United States.

Remember to reflect with pride upon our history, and not let people pigeonhole our State for their own progressive purposes.

At least one politician proudly marks the occasion and ALL of Alabama’s history:

  1. Bravo Alabama! She was a part of Bernardo de Galvez’s campaign against British positions in the War for American Independence. She served as the first host state for the capitol of the Confederate States. And today her institutions of higher learning are known for academic and athletic achievement.
